Leadership Fort Wayne team project releases Love, Fort Wayne video series

(May 2, 2014) – Each year, the participants in Leadership Fort Wayne, a leadership development series, are encouraged to participate in class projects to benefit the community. The 2013 Leadership Fort Wayne class kicked off the Love, Fort Wayne project with a board game that incentivized people to visit downtown dining establishments. The 2014 class carries the project forward with a positive image campaign that launched yesterday.

This year’s group has produced the Love, Fort Wayne video archive available at www.lovefortwayne.org. Fifty-one Fort Wayne residents from varying backgrounds, ethnicities, ages and occupations, volunteered their time to tell their stories and explain why they love our city. PUNCH Films donated its studio space and post-production time to create the archive, which is available for anyone to use.

“We believe the best way to change perceptions about Fort Wayne is to start within,” says Amber Recker, a member of the Love, Fort Wayne team. “So we created this video archive that recruiters, government agencies, schools, and anyone interested in spreading positive messaging about our city may use, and we hope they do. We may have more work to do, but we have much to celebrate.”

Over 100 people, including Mayor Tom Henry who participated in the video series, gathered at PUNCH Film’s studios on May 1 to officially kick off the project. The videos will live not only on the Love, Fort Wayne website, but they will be available on the websites of Greater Fort Wayne Inc., Visit Fort Wayne, Leadership Fort Wayne, and Arts United, as well.
