History Center blog and virtual exhibits grow as local history spotlighted

(April 30, 2014) – The History Center’s blog, “History Center Notes and Queries”, has achieved over 91,000 page views from around the world in its three years.

The blog is available at is available at https://historycenterfw.blogspot.com/.

Local writers have provided 250 posts to date highlighting a variety of articles about Fort Wayne’s events and people. Offerings have included posts on Miami Indian History, historic local architecture, Prince Kaboo, Congregation Achduth Vesholom, Civil War heroine Eliza George and ideas for parents on activities for children that will help spark an interest in history.

Six virtual exhibits have been added to the History Center’s offerings since last August. Available at www.fwhistorycenter.com, the exhibits contain photographs and a brief explanation of the persons or objects pictured and the events occurring at that time.

The blog and virtual exhibits are intended to supplement the History Center’s publications such as the “Old Fort News” and provide information for those wishing to know more about our community as they explore the museum and other historical sites in the city and county.
