News release from the Fort Wayne Community Schools:

FWCS asking parents, students and staff for input

(April 22, 2014) – Fort Wayne Community Schools is asking school-based staff, students in grades 6-12 and parents to participate in a climate survey. The survey opened this week and will close May 9. The results will provide the district with important feedback.

The survey was designed and administered by independent technology and communications firm K12 Insight, and explores critical topics, such as academic preparation, student support and school leadership.

“We are dedicated to improving academic achievement for all our students,” said FWCS Superintendent Dr. Wendy Robinson. “Hearing from students, parents and staff ensures that we have effective programs and services at every school in the district.”

School-based staff received email invitations to participate in the survey, while students in grades 6-12 will participate during class time. Parents who have provided the district with an email address will receive an email invitation to participate. The survey will also be accessible to all parents via the YourVoice section of the district website at www.fortwayneschools.org.

As candor and widespread participation are essential to the success of the district’s engagement efforts, survey results will not be tied to individual participants. In addition, the survey will be available in Spanish and Burmese.

“Everyone has a voice in our ongoing pursuit of academic excellence,” Robinson said. “Working together, we will provide all students with a high-quality education allowing them to become productive, responsible citizens.”
