Today’s weather story from the National Weather Service:
Heavy rain on the way
(April 2, 2014) – A strong low pressure system will move into the region this week, bringing heavy rain and possibly a few thunderstorms to the area. Rain will move into our southern counties today, and overspread the rest of the area by tonight. Total rainfall amounts from today through Friday could range from just over an inch in southern MI to around 3 inches near central IN. Cooler air will filter in behind the system, causing rain to change over to snow late Friday. Although, little to no accumulation is anticipated.
If heavy rain develops as expected, significant river flooding could occur, as well as flooding of low lying areas. For the latest forecast information, see our website at www.weather.gov/iwx.
