Snow storm on its way: Winter Weather Advisory in effect

(March 1, 2014) – A winter weather advisory is in effect for the entire area as a pair of low pressure systems will move along a slow-moving frontal boundary to our south tonight through Sunday night. The first of these systems will cause snow to spread southeast across the area this evening. The heaviest snowfall is expected overnight into early Sunday morning before tapering off with accumulations of 2 to 4 inches expected.

The second system should mainly impact southern portions of the area with an additional 2 to 4 inches of snow possible Sunday afternoon into Sunday evening before tapering off. Exact track of this second system is still a bit uncertain with small fluctuations north or south having a significant impact on potential accumulations Sunday afternoon and evening.

Storm total accumulations along and south of U.S. 24 will range from 4 to 7 inches with locally higher amounts possible. Lesser amounts are expected as you travel north.
