19th annual Doctors’ Day scheduled for March 1 at Science Central;
Free admission offered from 10 A.M.-2 P.M. day of event

(February 21, 2014) – “The Doctor will be in” on Saturday, March 1, 2014 when The Fort Wayne Medical Society Alliance, in sponsorship with the Fort Wayne Medical Society Foundation, Lutheran Health Network, Parkview Health and WAJI Majic 95.1 present Doctors’ Day at Science Central. Meeting health professionals and learning about medical and health issues in a fun and friendly environment will be the focus of the 19th event, held annually at the popular science center.

Doctors’ Day will run from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., with free admission to Science Central offered between 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. There will be a variety of hands-on exhibits, displays, and special activities, including raffles and giveaways, all of which are free to the public.

Activities will include the landing and display of the Lutheran Air and Parkview Samaritan helicopters (weather permitting); the chance to explore emergency medical vehicles; presentations by health care professionals on career options and training; and hands-on activities including a teddy bear first aid station, making a removable finger cast, face painting and balloon art, and much more.

“Sponsoring this event is a tradition for The Fort Wayne Medical Society Alliance,” said Maria Krach, event chairperson. “This gives our community the chance to spend time with medical professionals in a relaxed and fun way. We hope everyone marks their calendar, and takes advantage of free admission to Science Central for Doctors’ Day 2014.”
