THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF NORTHWEST OHIO…NORTHERN INDIANA…SOUTHWEST LOWER MICHIGAN AND THE NEARSHORE WATERS OF SOUTHEASTERN LAKE MICHIGAN.

DAY ONE…TODAY AND TONIGHT

SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF AROUND 1 INCH ARE EXPECTED TONIGHT.

DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY

A MIX OF SNOW AND SLEET IS EXPECTED ON MONDAY ACROSS MUCH OF THE AREA. SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 2 TO 4 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE MONDAY INTO EARLY MONDAY EVENING…ESPECIALLY ACROSS FAR NORTHERN INDIANA…EXTREME NORTHWEST OHIO…AND SOUTHERN LOWER MICHIGAN. LESSER SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED ACROSS SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF THE AREA WHERE THERE IS A GREATER CHANCE OF RAIN OR FREEZING RAIN MIXING IN AT TIMES. A PERIOD OF HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS IS POSSIBLE MONDAY INTO EARLY MONDAY EVENING DUE TO THIS WINTRY MIX.

A WARMING TREND WILL DEVELOP NEXT WEEK THAT WILL LEAD TO SOME MELTING OF THE EXTENSIVE SNOWPACK ACROSS THE AREA. THE FROZEN GROUND WILL RESULT IN RUNOFF OF THIS SNOWMELT INTO AREA STREAMS…CREEKS…AND RIVERS. THE COMBINATION OF THIS RUNOFF AND CHANCES OF RAINFALL LATE NEXT WEEK INTO NEXT WEEKEND WILL LEAD TO A HEIGHTENED FLOOD POTENTIAL ACROSS THE AREA.
