News release from IPFW:
IPFW Open House to Welcome Prospective Adult Students
(February 1, 2014) – Going back to school can be a daunting challenge for those wanting to complete their college studies or increase their professional skills. What to major in, how to pay for it, and when to take classes are just a few of the decisions that new and returning students struggle with.
With this in mind, the Division of Continuing Studies at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) is planning a Spring Open House and online informational sessions to acquaint prospective adult students with various program possibilities and provide guidance and support as they make these potentially life-altering educational decisions.
The IPFW Spring Open House will take place Tuesday, March 11, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. in Kettler Hall, Room 227. This is spring break at IPFW, so parking will be open. Anyone considering returning to college to work on a degree or a professional certificate, or just for fun, is invited to attend this event, which will provide opportunities to interact with and ask questions of the various staff involved in admissions, financial aid, student advising, and academics.
For those seeking educational direction, the Division of Continuing Studies (DCS) will have advisors on hand to discuss the various degrees and certificates available through DCS-administered programs. Prospective and returning students will have an opportunity to learn more about the following IPFW programs:
- Bachelor of General Studies degrees (nationally-recognized online and traditional classroom degree options)
- Online Bachelor’s Degree in Information Services (IS)
- Online R.N. to B.S. in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing programs
- Accelerated MBA program
- Master of Science in Educational Leadership program
- Certificate programs in business, industry, and professional development
- Personal and Professional Development
DCS will follow up the Spring Open House with two online informational sessions scheduled for Tuesday, March 18, at 12:30 p.m., and Wednesday, March 19, at 5 p.m., providing additional opportunities for prospective and returning students to ask questions. Those who register for this will receive login instructions for the online informational sessions via email.
Individuals should register online to attend the IPFW Spring Open House. To learn more about the various IPFW Division of Continuing Studies programs, visit the DCS website.
