Thomas J. Felts announces candidacy for re-election as Allen Circuit Court Judge

(January 11, 2014) – Thomas J. Felts has announced his intention to file his Declaration of Candidacy with the Indiana Election Division to officially become a candidate for the Republican nomination for Allen Circuit Court Judge.

“I am very proud of my record and the record of the Allen Circuit Court over the past 12 years. I am proud of my record of fiscal conservancy, innovation, efficiency, and leadership,” stated Judge Felts. “I look forward to the opportunity to build on the strong foundation of my previous 12 years as we face the many challenges ahead.”
Judge Felts was elected to the Circuit Court bench in November, 2002, having previously served as Magistrate of the Allen Circuit Court since October, 1989. He is a 1976 graduate of the University of Notre Dame and a 1979 graduate of Indiana University-Bloomington School of Law. He is married to Kathryn Felts and has 3 sons.

Long active in state and local affairs, Judge Felts is the Vice-Chair of the Allen County Community Corrections Board of Directors and currently holds leadership positions on the Boards of the Indiana Judicial Conference and the Indiana Judges Association, along with being a member of the Indiana Commission on Courts and several committees of the Indiana State Bar Association. He also serves on the Indiana Supreme Court’s Strategic Planning and Judicial Education Committees as well as on the Board of Directors of the Foellinger Foundation and the Allen County Courthouse Preservation Trust.
