Fort Wayne Wins Big Over Reno

(December 26, 2013) – The Fort Wayne Mad Ants defeated the Reno Bighorns at home tonight, 114-89, for their fifth straight win. Leading the way for the Ants was Trey McKinney-Jones who recorded a double-double with 28 points and 10 rebounds. Sadiel Rojas also had a big night for the home team netting 21 points, 7 boards and 4 steals. Ra’shad James led the Bighorns with 20 points.

Mo Charlo recorded 6 points in the first quarter and Ra’shad James added 5 in the second quarter to pace the Bighorns in scoring during the first half. Sadiel Rojas paced Fort Wayne with 8 points in the first quarter and Ron Howard put up 9 points in the second quarter to give the Mad Ants a 48-34 advantage going into halftime.

The Bighorns responded in the third quarter putting up 31 points but they could not overcome the Mad Ants, who scored 33 points in the quarter, thanks to McKinney-Jones’ 11 points. McKinney-Jones continued his hot streak in the fourth, as he scored 12 points during the final period. The Mad Ants record improves to 6-5 and Reno falls to 5-7 on the season.
