Trine University, Parkview Health team to offer new physical therapy program

(November 21, 2013) ANGOLA, Ind. – Parkview Health and Trine University are partnering to offer Trine’s new physical therapy program, the two organizations announced this morning at a press conference in the Carew Medical Park Atrium.

“We’re excited to team with Parkview Health to offer the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program,” said Earl D. Brooks II, Ph.D., Trine president. “The partnership of Parkview Health and Trine’s School of Health Studies affords our students professional, clinical experiences and internships. We are grateful for Parkview’s commitment to Trine and the region by helping to bring a physical therapy doctorate program to the area.”

“Trine’s dedication to offering health-care focused educational opportunities is an important step in the right direction as we try to provide the appropriate services for a growing demand within our industry,” said Michael Packnett, CEO and president, Parkview Health. “The Carew Medical Park is a perfect home for this new program and is just one of many great education opportunities to come.”

The Randallia campus of Parkview Health (www.parkview.com), 1819 Carew St., is the home of Trine’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program. The facility will include state of the art anatomy labs, clinical labs and classrooms. Students will also enjoy study space, dining amenities and adjacent garage parking.

Guest speakers at the conference included Brooks, Packnett and Tom Henry, Fort Wayne mayor.
