Legacy airlines celebrate anniversaries at FWA
Airport Authority hosts Customer Appreciation Week, contest to celebrate

(November 8, 2013) – This year marks three noteworthy anniversaries for the legacy air carriers at Fort Wayne International Airport (FWA). United Airlines celebrates 65 years of service in Fort Wayne, Delta Air Lines 60 years, and American Airlines 40 years. To celebrate, the Fort Wayne-Allen County Airport Authority will host a Customer Appreciation Week November 11-15 to thank the airlines for their service and the community for their support.

“Without the support of these legacy carriers and our passengers, Fort Wayne would not have an airport,” said Scott Hinderman, Executive Director of Airports for the Fort Wayne-Allen County Airport Authority. “The FWA team is very thankful for the more than six decades of air service that connects Fort Wayne to the rest of the world and for the loyal customers who choose FWA for their travel needs.”

Each day during Customer Appreciation Week, Airport Authority staff will offer special gifts and services to passengers in the terminal. Here is the schedule of events:

  • November 11 – Complimentary ice cream bars from 1p-4p
  • November 12 – Choice of luggage tag or koozie to cars exiting the parking lot
  • November 13 – DeBrand chocolate sampling from 1p-5p
  • November 14 – Free 10-minute chair massages from 10a-12p
  • November 15 – Complimentary popcorn from 12p-4p

For those passengers who will not be traveling through FWA next week, the Airport Authority will host an online giveaway. Contestants can sign up at
www.FWAirport.com or on the airport’s Facebook page to be entered into a drawing for $250 travel certificates from each airline – a total of $750 in airfare. Other prizes include Vera Bradley tote bags, DeBrand chocolates, and an airport prize package.
