“Trick-or-Treating” Update

(October 30, 2013) – Despite a rainy forecast for Halloween in the Fort Wayne area, city officials have decided to not move “Trick-or-Treating” from Thursday to Friday.

The trick-or-treating in city neighborhoods will go as tradition holds, but if you plan to head out be prepared for inclement weather.

In a joint statement from Mayor Henry’s office and that of Police Chief Rusty York, “Though we received some inquiries into the rescheduling of “Trick-or-Treating” due to the weather forecast, it was decided that because of several area events already scheduled for Friday evening, the move would create a burden for many families”.

Parents should adjust to the forecasted weather and ensure that all trick-or-treaters are dressed according to the anticipated weather conditions. The latest forecast from the National Weather Service calls for windy conditions with a steady rain early… then remaining cloudy with a few showers towards the evening and night hours.
