Barricaded Domestic Battery Suspect

(August 26, 2013) – On Tuesday, 08/27/2013, at approximately 8:07 PM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 1600 block of Cass Street to investigate a domestic battery. The victim of the battery was at another address and advised the battery occurred at the suspect’s residence in the 1600 block of Cass Street. Officers arrived and were unable to make contact with the suspect.

Officers later received information the suspect was possibly barricaded inside his residence. At approximately 12:21 AM, on Wednesday, 08/28/2013, the Emergency Services Team (EST) and Crisis Response Team (CRT) were called to assist reference a barricaded subject.

CRT members made repeated attempts to communicate with the suspect without success. EST members attempted to verbally order the suspect out of his residence over a loud speaker. Since the suspect failed to communicate, EST members entered the residence just before 3:00 AM. The suspect was not located inside the residence.

This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
