FWA and Allegiant announce non-stop service to Phoenix/Mesa,
Launch photo contest to award free trips

(August 20, 2013) – Officials at the Fort Wayne-Allen County Airport Authority are pleased to announce that Allegiant has launched non-stop service from Fort Wayne International Airport (FWA) to Phoenix/Mesa in Arizona. The service to Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (AZA) will operate two flights per week on Wednesdays and Saturdays beginning October 30, 2013.

“Allegiant has been a great partner for FWA over the years,” said Scott Hinderman, Executive Director of Airports for the Fort Wayne-Allen County Airport Authority. “As our leisure market continues to grow, Allegiant continues to offer new destinations that include not just affordable airfare, but hotel and attraction packages for hassle-free vacation travel.”

Allegiant is offering special introductory fares of $99 round-trip for flights booked by August 22. After this date, Allegiant will offer $89 one-way fares through August 27.

With breathtaking scenery, endless sun, unmatched resorts, and miles of world-class golf courses, Phoenix/Mesa is a gateway to all that Arizona has to offer. Allegiant partners with more than 70 of Arizona’s most exciting hotel properties, provides low-cost car rental service through its partnership with Alamo Rent a Car, and offers great deals on activities such as hot air balloon rides and Grand Canyon tours.

To celebrate the new service, FWA, Allegiant, and the Hyatt Place Scottsdale have teamed up to host the “Crazy for AZ” Photo Contest. The contest welcomes fun, crazy photo submissions that include the letters “A” and “Z” anywhere in the picture. One lucky photographer will be awarded an all-expenses-paid trip for two to Phoenix/Mesa if their photo is voted as the crowd favorite. One trip for two will also be awarded to a randomly selected voter. The contest begins at 1 p.m. August 20 and ends at midnight September 18. Allegiant also offers non-stop flights from FWA to Orlando, Tampa Bay, and Fort Myers, Florida, as well as seasonal service to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
