Ivy Tech Community College announces new vending service provider
Partnership will result in more than $10 million in earnings for the college(August 19, 2013) INDIANAPOLIS – Ivy Tech Community College has selected AVI Foodsystems to provide vending services to each of its 31 campuses. Through the partnership, Ivy Tech is expected to earn more than $10 million over the term of the contract, providing significant incremental revenue which will be reinvested in the students and programs.
With the newly announced partnership with AVI, the college will deliver more options for its students and an enhanced focus on wellness and technology in its new vending service program. All Ivy Tech campuses now will enjoy access to AVI’s proprietary nutriSOURCE wellness program, featuring three levels of wellness offerings and a contemporary website filled with helpful information. AVInutriSOURCE.com offers wellness tips, nutritional data on menu selections and an Ask The Dietitian service. In addition enhanced technology will offer easier access to the vending program
The offerings at Ivy Tech will feature cold beverages, snacks and candy from the leading national brands. In addition, AVI also is known for having the industry’s leading fresh food program, offering a rotating variety of freshly prepared sandwiches, entrées, sides, soups, wraps and more.
AVI Homemade Cookies also are always available, but the culinary team is creating a special edition to honor the 50th anniversary of Ivy Tech. The Anniversary Cupcake Cookie will be baked with a custom recipe created just for the College. To celebrate the College’s success, AVI will offer the anniversary cookie as well as free Taylor & Byrnes Gourmet Coffee for a limited time on all campuses.
Ivy Tech continues to look at new revenue and cost savings opportunities to continue to keep tuition affordable and higher education accessible to Hoosiers throughout the state. Ivy Tech has re-engineered many aspects of the college and saved more than $120 million; however the school has still delayed more than $70 million in investments that would assist students including lab space, equipment, advisors and full-time faculty.
