Animal Care & Control seeking information, leads on suspicious activity
(August 2, 2013) – A white van, short in length and rounded in appearance, with bold, black lettering that reads ANIMAL CARE, has been reported seen driving slowly through neighborhoods and alleys in Fort Wayne. The report states that animals were removed from back yards in the North West area of the city. Cats from the area are also believed to be missing.
The van and occupants are not connected to the City of Fort Wayne, Animal Care & Control Department. Anyone spotting the van in any location or with information about the van is asked to call Animal Care & Control immediately at 427-1244 or contact the police desk sergeant at 427-1222.
Pet owners are cautioned to stay with pets when they are outside and to not leave any animal unattended in a parked vehicle. Have pets microchipped for permanent identification. Search for a missing pet at the shelter and report found pets immediately.
