TinCaps Announce Roster Moves: July 27th

The Fort Wayne TinCaps, in conjunction with the San Diego Padres, announced the following roster moves Saturday, July 27:

Infielder Eric Charles released. In six games with Fort Wayne, the Purdue University hit .133 (2-15) with no home runs and two runs batted in.

RHP Roman Madrid placed on the disabled list, retroactive to July 25th. Madrid, a Midwest League All-Star, is 5-3 with a 2.47 ERA in 39 games, which is the second-most appearances in the league. His 15 saves are the most of any active pitcher in the league.

RHP Ruben Mejia reinstated from Fort Wayne’s disabled list. Mejia, 21, had been on the disabled list since July 2. Mejia is 2-5 wit ha 3.75 ERA in 16 games.

OF Luis Tejada reinstated from Fort Wayne’s disabled list. Tejada, 20, had been on the disabled list since July 12th. He is hitting .243 with one home run and 31 runs batted in through 79 games.

The TinCaps roster stands at the Midwest League limit of 25 players.
