Croninger, Irwin Named Four Star Schools
(May 13, 2013) – Croninger and Irwin elementary schools have been designated Four Star Schools by the Indiana Department of Education.
Schools are awarded the designation if they are among the top 25 percent of schools in the state, based on the results of ISTEP+ taken at the end of the 2011-12 school year. Statewide, 313 public and private schools were named Four Star Schools.
Croninger has earned Four Star status six out of the last seven years. Irwin was last named a Four Star School in 2010.
“Croninger is ecstatic to once again be named a Four Star School by the IDOE,” Croninger Principal Carrie Kennedy said. “The dedication and commitment to learning held by the staff and students, as well as the support of the District and families of Croninger, makes this achievement possible.”
Irwin Principal Ingrid Laidroo-Martin echoed those sentiments.
“We were very excited to learn that we had earned Four Star status again,” she said. “We tell our students that their best is good enough, and as being a Four Star School is a moving target, we just try to be a Four Star School with Four Star Students, Staff and Families every day.”
