Ventures in Creativity Exhibit
(May 9, 2013) – The Fort Wayne Artists Guild and the University of Saint Francis School of Creative Arts are pleased to present the 36th Annual Ventures in Creativity. The art exhibition will run from July 13 through August 16, 2013 at the Weatherhead Gallery located on the Saint Francis campus in Fort Wayne.
The Fort Wayne Artists Guild is a non-profit organization located in Fort Wayne, Indiana committed to enhancing knowledge about the fine arts and to providing the opportunity for artistic growth. The Guild is a member of Arts United and Indiana Federation of Arts.
A reception for the artists and public will be held at the Weatherhead Gallery in the Mimi and Ian Rolland Art and Visual Communication Center on the Saint Francis campus on Saturday, July 13th, 6:00 – 9:00 pm.
Awards will be given at 7:00 pm.
Normal gallery hours for Ventures in Creativity are M-F 9:00 – 5:00.
Vivianna Szabo, judge for this show, is a nationally recognized artist who has won awards in many juried competitions. She has worked as a professional portrait artist for the past 18 years, completing over 100 commissions. Vianna is also an avid plein air painter. Her media include oil, pastel, charcoal, and watercolor. Her favorite subject is her children which can frequently be seen in her work.
Vianna received a B.S. degree and teaching certificate from Eastern Michigan University in 1983. She teaches private lessons and group workshops and is an instructor at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center in Birmingham, Michigan. She is a member of the Portrait Society of America, Great Lakes Pastel Society, Degas Pastel Society, Oil Painters of America, as well as a signature member of the West coast Pastel Society and the Pastel Society of America. She was awarded Master Circle status in the International Association of Pastel Societies in 2011.
