The TinCaps finished April with a 10-3 record at Parkview Field. Fort Wayne won its final three home games of the month with a pair of extra-inning walk-off victories and a game-winning grand slam in the eighth inning of another.
Right-handed pitcher Joe Ross, 19, who’s scheduled to start for the TinCaps on Wednesday, is 3-0 with 1.78 ERA.
Defiance, OH native Justin Hancock (1-0, 2.00 ERA) has limited opposing batters to an average of .178, which is the fifth lowest for any pitcher in the Midwest League
