The National Weather Service has updated their Winter Weather Advisory:

URGENT – WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NORTHERN INDIANA
943 AM EDT MON MAR 25 2013

…SNOW WILL PERSIST THROUGH THE MORNING HOURS…

SNOW BANDS HAVE REMAINED PERSISTENT ACROSS THE SOUTHEASTERN HALF OF OUR AREA THROUGH THE MORNING HOURS. THESE BANDS WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE MORNING BEFORE GRADUALLY DISSIPATING DURING THE AFTERNOON HOURS. STORM TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 5 TO 9 INCHES HAVE BEEN OBSERVED IN THE WARNING AREA WITH A FEW LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS. 1 TO 3 ADDITIONAL INCHES OF SNOW IS EXPECTED THROUGH THE MORNING HOURS ACROSS THE WARNING AREA. GENERALLY 2 TO 5 INCHES AS OBSERVED IN THE ADVISORY AREA WITH AROUND AN INCH OF ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATION EXPECTED. NORTH OF THE ADVISORY AREAS…LESS THAN HALF AN INCH OF ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATION IS ANTICIPATED.

MOST ROADS IN THE ADVISORY AND WARNING AREA ARE SNOW COVERED…SLICK AND HAZARDOUS. ALLOW EXTRA TIME ON THE ROADWAYS. BE SAFE…DO NOT DRIVE FASTER THAN THE CONDITIONS.

* TIMING…SNOW WILL CONTINUE TO GRADUALLY DECREASE IN INTENSITY THROUGH THE MORNING HOURS.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS…STORM TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 2 TO 5 INCHES HAVE BEEN OBSERVED WITH AN ADDITIONAL INCH OF SNOW POSSIBLE THROUGH NOON.

IMPACTS…

* SOME ROADS REMAIN SNOW COVERED WHICH WILL KEEP TRAVEL CONDITIONS HAZARDOUS.
