News release from the Allen County Sheriff’s Department:
One Critical One Serious in Head On Crash
On 3/2/2013 at approximately 3:00 PM the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to a 2 vehicle crash on US 33 North of Hilderbrand. According to witnesses, a black Mercedes was traveling south on US 33 when it crossed the center line striking a maroon F350 truck traveling north. The head on collision caused the F350 to slide into the ditch while the black Mercedes came to rest in the middle of the roadway. The driver of the Mercedes was flown to a local hospital in critical condition while the driver of the truck was taken in serious condition. A passenger in the truck was transported in good condition. This crash remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department.
US 33 will be closed in both directions between Hilderbrand and Giesking for several hours. Motorists are advised to take an alternative route.
