News release from Ft. Wayne’s Farmers Market:

Ft. Wayne Farmers Market to Offer Cooking Demonstration and New Vendors
March 2nd Set For Next Market Day at Parkview Field

Ft. Wayne’s Farmers Market is pleased to announce that Ivy Tech’s Culinary Arts program will be providing a cooking demonstration at the March 2nd Market. “We are very happy to have Ivy Tech join us this month,” said Leigh Rowan, Market Coordinator. “Ivy Tech has an excellent reputation in this field. Vendors and shoppers alike are looking forward to seeing AND tasting what these chefs will be putting forth with products offered at our market.”

Ft. Wayne’s Farmers Market also has some exciting future plans and collaborations in the works. “With our number continuing to climb to well over 1,200 shoppers in February, we are working hard with other markets, sponsors, community organizations, businesses and funders to provide the optimum market experience for our community this spring, summer, fall and next winter,” said Gina Kostoff, Urban Enterprise Association Executive Director and FWFM Media, Communications and Community Involvement Liaison. “We are finalizing plans for several satellite summer markets in various parts of Fort Wayne and Allen County. We are also close to announcing a major corporate sponsor as well as plans for next winter’s market. Stay tuned!”

March’s market will again have over 40 vendors who will be providing Fort Wayne with an incredible selection of foods, farm products, natural products and hand-crafted items. New vendors to join FWWFM include: Tonne Winery, Fruited Plains Seeds, a pork and flour vendor, and Chameleon, a homemade protein bar vendor. The Fort Wayne’s Children’s Zoo will also be onsite with a special guest…Jack the Bunny! FWFM is proud to offer organic produce and food as well as several selections for those with special dietary needs or restrictions including vegetarian, vegan, sugar-free and gluten-free. A list of vendors is attached.

Parking is available in the attached parking garage as well as plenty of free parking on the street and in the Parkview Field surface parking lots. An ATM machine will also be available for the convenience of shoppers.
When visiting FWFM and individual vendors, be sure to check in on foursquare for deals and specials!
