Second Arrest Made in String of Apartment Robberies
Police Encourage Continued Vigilance

Arrested: Corey L. Harris, age 21, Fort Wayne

Charges: Receiving Stolen Property, Obstruction of Justice

(February 19, 2013) – A second individual has been charged in connection to a string of robberies that occurred in apartment complexes during the month of January. Today, Corey L. Harris, age 21, of Fort Wayne, was taken into custody by Fort Wayne Police Detectives and transported to the Allen County Jail on two separate charges: Receiving Stolen Property, and Obstruction of Justice. Evidence discovered during the execution of a search warrant at Harris’ home linked him to a robbery investigation that occurred on January 8, 2013 at 2122 Ardmore Avenue, the Autumn Creek Apartment Complex. The investigation has since revealed that Harris assisted in disposing of property or item(s) taken during the robbery.

The Fort Wayne Police Department continues to investigate these incidents and additional arrests are anticipated. Apartment residents are encouraged to remain vigilant.
