GUSTY WEST WINDS OF 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 35 TO 40 MPH WILL CONTINUE EARLY THIS EVENING. IN ADDITION…OCCASIONAL SNOW SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE WITH VISIBILITIES REDUCED TO LESS THAN A HALF MILE IN THE HEAVIER SNOW SHOWERS. ROADS MAY BECOME SNOW COVERED AND SLICK…ESPECIALLY ALONG NORTH TO SOUTH ORIENTED ROADS WHERE PATCHES OF DRIFTED SNOW ON ROADWAYS MAY BE ENCOUNTERED. MOTORISTS SHOULD USE CAUTION AND ALLOW EXTRA TIME TO REACH THEIR DESTINATIONS. WIND GUSTS ARE EXPECTED TO SUBSIDE SOMEWHAT AFTER 8 PM EST THIS EVENING.

REDUCED VISIBILITIES AND LIGHT ACCUMULATIONS FROM LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS MAY CREATE HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS MAINLY NORTH OF ROUTE 6 IN INDIANA AND MICHIGAN TODAY INTO TONIGHT.

A WINTER STORM WILL EMERGE INTO THE CENTRAL PLAINS WEDNESDAY NIGHT INTO THURSDAY. THIS SYSTEM WILL TRACK THROUGH THE CENTRAL PLAINS ON THURSDAY…TO NEAR THE MISSOURI AND IOWA BORDER BY FRIDAY MORNING. THE STORM WILL THEN TURN NORTHWARD INTO THE UPPER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY AND WESTERN GREAT LAKES THROUGH FRIDAY. ACCUMULATING SNOWFALL WILL OVERSPREAD THE REGION…ESPECIALLY WEST OF INTERSTATE 69…THURSDAY EVENING. SNOW WILL SPREAD NORTHEAST TO NORTHWEST OHIO AND SOUTH CENTRAL MICHIGAN EARLY FRIDAY MORNING. MOTORISTS SHOULD CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE FORECAST AS THE EARLY FRIDAY MORNING COMMUTE WILL LIKELY BE IMPACTED. ON FRIDAY…WARMING TEMPERATURES AND DRIER AIR ARE EXPECTED TO GREATLY LIMIT ANY ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATIONS…WITH THE BEST CHANCE FOR ANY ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATIONS OF SNOW NORTH OF ROUTE 6.
