Portion of Ellison Road Converting to Two-Way
Change becomes effective Friday at 5 p.m.(November 8, 2012) — A big change for a small portion of an Allen County highway goes into effect beginning tomorrow evening.
The Allen County Highway Department today announced that the portion of Ellison Road located between Liberty Mills Road and US 24 is being converted from one-way to two-way traffic. The change along the northbound section of the connector road takes effect at 5 p.m. Friday.
Along with the conversion, the County Highway Department widened the quarter-mile stretch of Ellison Road to include a center turn lane.
The timing of the switch coincides with the Indiana Department of Transportation’s widening of US 24 east. The change is expected to make it easier for motorists to access developments along Ellison Road.
