David Long announces campaign kick-off event, June 20th

Indiana Senate President Pro Tem David Long will formally kick-off his campaign for reelection tomorrow with a reception at his campaign headquarters.

Campaign Manager Chris Creighton said the public is welcome to attend the event on Wednesday which begins at 5:30 p.m. at Long Campaign headquarters located at 7131 W. Jefferson Blvd in the Hollows Shopping Center.

“We are very fortunate to have David Long representing Fort Wayne as President Pro Tem of the Indiana State Senate,” Creighton said. “A true leader, his distinguished record of balanced budgets, fiscal responsibility and common-sense Hoosier values is crucial if we are to keep Indiana moving forward.”

Long has led the Senate as President Pro Tempore since 2006.

Under his leadership, Indiana’s budgets are balanced, state spending has been cut, the death tax has been eliminated and Hoosiers’ property taxes are now the lowest in the nation. In addition, sweeping education reforms were enacted that empower students and parents to receive the best education we can afford so they can achieve their dreams and enhance their quality of life. His efforts to enact pro-job, pro-growth policies and make Indiana a national leader in job creation earned him the Government Leader of the Year Award from the Indiana Chamber of Commerce in 2011.

Before he was elected to the State Senate, David served on the Fort Wayne City Council, the Fort Wayne Plan Commission and the Urban Enterprise Zone Board. He currently serves on the Board of Junior Achievement and is a past board member of the Boys and Girls Club and the Lincoln Museum.

Creighton encourages voters to take a minute and log on to Long’s website, www.DavidLongforSenate.com
