Robbery Investigation

Charges: Robbery, Resisting Law Enforcement, Felony Intimidation, and Possession of CocaineThe Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the CVS Pharmacy located at 5802 South Anthony in reference to a robbery investigation. As officers arrived on the scene, an officer observed a female running out of the store. The female told the officer that the store was being robbed. As the officer entered into the store, he observed a male subject running from the back of the store near the parmacy towards the front of the store. The officer ordered the subject to stop running and to lay down on the ground. The subject ignored the officers order and charged towards the officer. The officer and the subject were involved in a physical altercation as the subject was then tased by the officer. The subject was then taken into custody.
Investigators received information that the subject went into the store and approached the pharmacist with a note demanding prescription drugs. The subject verbally stated that he had a weapon but one was not displayed. The pharmacist gave the subject the drugs as he then ran towards the entrance to the store where he was apprehended.
This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecutors Office.
