Stutzman Applauds GM’s $275 Million Investment
3rd District is open for business as GM announces new jobs(Washington, D.C., October 26, 2011) – Today, following General Motors’ announcement of a $275 million investment in their Fort Wayne plant, Congressman Stutzman (IN-03) issued the following statement:
“Northeast Indiana is open for business. GM has made an important investment in their future and the future of our community. This decision will create new opportunities. The company’s relationship with Northeast Indiana goes back to 1986 and is strong today. Having built over five million trucks, the Fort Wayne assembly plant is one of the most productive in the nation and employs 3,400 Hoosiers. I had the opportunity to visit the plant last week. Their hard work and dedication are impressive testaments to our community’s character. Today’s announcement will create or retain 150 jobs. That’s great news.”
Congressman Stutzman represents the 3rd Congressional District of Indiana and serves on the House Committee on Agriculture, the House Committee on the Budget and the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, Subcommittee on Economic Opportunity. Indiana’s 3rd District contains all of DeKalb, Kosciusko, Lagrange, Noble, Steuben, and Whitley counties, as well as parts of Allen and Elkhart counties.
