Tom Henry for Mayor campaign releases new ad: “Leadership”

(October 21, 2011) – Today the Tom Henry for Mayor campaign released a new TV ad, “Leadership.” The spot highlights Mayor Henry’s strong record of accomplishments: keeping city finances strong by holding spending flat every year and keeping us on track to pay down 40 percent of city debt by 2015 while continuing to provide quality city services to residents.

The ad will begin airing on all major Fort Wayne stations starting today alongside our other TV ad “Falling.”

Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry said today that the garbage and recycling program has cut waste cost by $1 million.

Mayor Henry said that the programs are costing less, but generating more than expected.
Henry said this is a tremendous accomplishment.

“Our success is due in large part to the growing interest in our recycling program. Initial estimates set participation at 34-percent. But today, 68-percent of Fort Wayne residents are recycling,” Mayor Henry said.

Henry said recycling has generated half a million dollars because there is less garbage going into landfills. The other half a million was generated by utilizing the competitive bidding process in awarding garbage contracts.
