Mayor Henry releases balanced 2012 Budget, holds spending flat for 4th year in a row
Budget pays down debt, maintains strong Finances, provides quality services

(September 23, 2011) — Today, Mayor Tom Hemy released the proposed 2012 budget for the City of Fort Wayne. The budget reflects Mayor Hemy’s commitment to keep the City of Fort Wayne’s finances strong while continuing to provide quality services to residents.

“Our 2012 budget is balanced and, for the fourth consecutive year, will hold spending flat,” said Mayor Tom Hemy. “Additionally, we will substantially reduce the debt, keeping us on track to pay down 40% of City debt by 2015. But most importantly, our budget maintains our strong City Finances without cutting the vital services our residents depend on.”
