ARCH Calls for Endangered Buildings and ARCHIE Award Nominations in Allen County

(September 2, 2011) – ARCH announces that it will accept nominations from the public for ARCHIE awards and the annual list of Allen County’s Most Endangered Structures.

ARCH has awarded outstanding restoration efforts annually since 1977 with the ARCHIE awards. Nominations for 2011 ARCHIE winners will be accepted between now and September 30, 2011. Eligible projects must be exterior efforts or visible to the public, have recently been completed, and must be located in Allen County, Indiana. Nominations may be sent to ARCH, 818 Lafayette Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46802, or by email to ARCHfortwayne@gmail.com.

ARCH has announced an annual list of the community’s Most Endangered Structures each year since 1992. This listing includes prominent architectural treasures, local landmarks, and beloved spots in Allen County that are threatened by changing use, vacancy, deterioration, obsolescence, or nearby new development. ARCH will accept suggestions for the 2011 list between now and September 30. Nominations may be sent to ARCH, 818 Lafayette Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46802, or by email to ARCHfortwayne@gmail.com.

ARCH will announce the 2011 ARCHIE winners and the 2011 Most Endangered Structures List at a special event during the fall of 2011.
