Allen County Fall Tax Sale Moving to Memorial Coliseum
2011 event set for Oct. 5(September 2, 2011) — The War Memorial Coliseum will be the new site for the Allen County Fall 2011 Tax Sale on Wednesday, October 5. The sale will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the Coliseum’s Blue Room.
Properties in Allen County that are delinquent for three or more installments are eligible for the tax sale, according to Sue Orth, County Treasurer.
Bidders can register electronically by going to www.allencounty.us/property?tax?division/tax?sale. You can also register in person at the Allen County Auditor’s Office, 1 East Main Street, Room 102, through October 4. An IRS W?9 form is required with all Tax Sale Registration forms. Orth recommends that anyone wishing to participate in the tax sale should download, read and understand the tax sale information given. “Failure to understand the rules of the tax sale or carefully evaluating the property you are bidding on could result in unanticipated financial loss,” she said.
