Fort Wayne TinCaps present get well gifts to pediatrics patients
(August 18, 2011) — Fort Wayne TinCaps officials, team members and Johnny today visited Parkview Hospital and presented get well gifts to patients in the pediatrics unit.
“It means a lot to our young patients and their families when special visitors, such as the TinCaps, take time to come and interact with those in need,” said Sue Ehinger, chief operating officer, Parkview Hospital. “We appreciate the partnership with the TinCaps and commend them for their commitment to our community.”
“The TinCaps players and staff have the opportunity to entertain and interact with fans of all ages during games at Parkview Field,” said Abby Naas, TinCaps assistant marketing director. “We understand that some of our fans don’t have the opportunity to attend a game due to battling their health-related situations. It is our pleasure to be able to bring a small part of the TinCaps experience to Parkview’s pediatric patients. The smile on the children’s faces when Johnny TinCap or a TinCaps player walks through the door is priceless. We are thankful that Parkview gives us the opportunity to spend time with these children. It is an uplifting experience for all involved.”
This marks the second time this year that the TinCaps have visited Parkview Hospital to encourage children and their families.
