News release from the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo:

Mad Mondays at the Zoo in August: Ride for One Token!

The Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo’s “Mad Mondays” promotion will offer zoo rides for one token every Monday in August 2011.

On every August Monday (August 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29), the Miniature Train Ride, Australian River Ride, Endangered Species Carousel, and Sky Safari rides will be available for one token per rider instead of the regular price of two tokens. Tokens cost $1 each. The Pony Ride is not included in this promotion.

“Rides are an important part of the zoo experience,” says Zoo Director Jim Anderson. “”Guests enjoy the rides, and they provide revenue for our non-profit operation.”

There is no limit to the number of rides that may be ridden on Mad Mondays. Zoo Ride Passes and other discounts are not valid with this promotion.

More information about the zoo’s rides may be found at www.kidszoo.org.

The Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo is one of the area’s major attractions, drawing 500,000 visitors every year. The zoo is consistently named one of the country’s “Top Ten Zoos for Kids” by national media outlets.

The Zoo is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily until October 9. Admission is $13 for adults, $8.50 for children age 2-14, and $10.50 for seniors over age 60. Babies age 1 and under and Zoo Society Members are admitted free.
