Germanfest

The third day of Germanfest activities.

This is the 30th anniversary of Germanfest in Fort Wayne.  The Festival Pavilion & Bier tent opens tomorrow.

Today’s events:

11:30 a.m. - Brown Bag Lunch at Barr Street Marketplace, 302 E Berry St
Bring your own brown bag lunch and join the Fort Wayne History Center under the trees at the Barr Street Market. A wonderful place to gather, enjoy the sights and sounds of downtown Fort Wayne. Tables and music entertainment provided. What a great way to spend your lunch hour!

 

12:15 p.m. – Germanfest Organ Concert at the Plymouth Congregational Church, 501 W Berry St
Maestro Robert Nance, organist, will perform organ masterpieces by renowned German composers for your listening pleasure.

 

6:00 p.m. Bitburgerabend at the Fort Wayne Sports Club, 3102 Ardmore Ave
Join the Fort Wayne Sport Club in a Germanfest tradition: Bitburger Night. Enjoy Bitburger beer from Germany as well as live musical entertainment.

 

7:00 p.m. Slide Show at the Fort Wayne Parks & Recreation Community Center, 233 W Main St
Mr. Kris Kallmeyer, German teacher at Northrop High School, two-time Fulbright exchange teacher to Germany, and a NEH & Lilly Fellow, will present an hour long German lecture with slides followed by a question and answer session immediately following. Refreshments will be served. Free admission.
