Car sought in regards to FWPD ‘death investigation’

News release from the Fort Wayne Police Department:

Death Investigation

Date/Time of Incident: May 23, 2011 / 6:50 a.m.
Location of Incident: 1100 Runnion Avenue
Victim: Male Adult

On Monday, May 23, 2011 at approximately 6:50 a.m. the Fort Wayne Police Department, along with Emergency Medical Services and the Allen County Coroner’s Office, responded to a home in the 1100 block of Runnion Avenue reference a death investigation. A caller advised finding his friend inside the home and reported that his friend appeared to be unconscious. Paramedics arrived and pronounced the subject deceased at the scene. At that time, the cause of death appeared to be natural. During the post-mortem examination, questions were raised by the Coroner’s Office, and both the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Coroner’s Office returned to the scene for further investigation.

This continues to be a death investigation. The Allen County Coroner will determine the cause and manner of death, and will release the identity of the victim pending notification of family.

The department is seeking information as to the whereabouts of the decedent’s vehicle, which was found to be missing during the investigation. It is described as a:

2002 Silver Buick Century, bearing Indiana Plate YW5551
