News release from the Paula Hughes for Mayor campaign:
Hughes posts impressive fundraising quarter
Continues to Build Widespread Support from Area DonorsFormer Allen County Council President and leading Republican candidate for Fort Wayne Mayor, Paula Hughes, filed her 2011 pre-primary fundraising information and showed she has continued to receive strong support from hundreds of Fort Wayne residents. She raised an additional $113,662.43 from over 200 new donors.
Even more staggering is the show of local support. Just like her previous report, Hughes raised 97% of her total dollars from Fort Wayne and Allen County donors. Overall, Hughes has raised a grand total of $286,492.15 from 476 unique donors.
“I am humbled by the outpouring of support from so many local citizens,” Hughes said. “It’s an honor to know my friends and neighbors have noticed my hard work for our community and believe that I am the best candidate to improve Fort Wayne.”
In addition to the strong financial position of her campaign coffers, Paula Hughes has been building momentum across Fort Wayne and has garnered many recent, high-profile endorsements. Over the last week, she has been officially endorsed by Allen County Sheriff Ken Fries, Allen County Right to Life PAC, and the Northeast Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors of Indiana. Hughes is the only candidate that has received endorsements from law enforcement, free enterprise, and social conservative entities.
“The widespread support of my candidacy has not just been in dollars, but also in significant conservative endorsements and strong grassroots support,” Hughes said. “It is clear that Fort Wayne wants to cut city debt and get back to work. Taxpayers know they need someone with a track record of protecting their interests and that is why this campaign continues to build momentum towards May 3rd.”
