Ivy Tech Community College-Northeast Hosting Tapas-style Dinner to Wrap Up the 2011 Spring Special Cuisines

(April 6, 2011) – The Special Cuisines class at Ivy Tech Community College-Northeast invites the community to join its students, faculty, and staff for a Tapas Style Dinner on Thursday, April 14.

Enjoy a rare opportunity to participate in a traditional Tapas-style Dinner. Tapas-style eating is the perfect opportunity to spend time with friends and family while sampling a seemingly-endless offering of foods from around the world. At no other place in Fort Wayne can you experience such an extensive and unique menu featuring gourmet soups, cheeses, meats/seafood, vegetables, and sweet treats.

“We are borrowing the Spanish tapas tradition of serving small plates, but the foods will not necessarily be Spanish cuisine,” said Chef Jeff Bunting, chair of the Department of Hospitality Department. “Guests can simply help themselves to any or all of the foods that are available on the expansive buffet or the carts that will be constantly changing their offerings.”

Dinners are open to the public. Cost is $20 per person, and reservations are taken for times between 5 and 6:30 p.m. on the evening of each dinner. Call the Special Cuisines line at 260-480-2002 to make a reservation.
