News release from the University of Saint Francis:

Concert highlighting USF Spring Fling Week

(March 29, 2011) – Nationally-known Christian band Tenth Avenue North will be in concert as part of Spring Fling Week at the University of Saint Francis on Wednesday, April 13 in the Hutzell Sports Complex gymnasium. USF’s Campus Ministry is hosting the concert, which is open to USF students and the public.

According to the band’s publicity materials, “the ability to challenge audiences to a deeper walk of faith while simultaneously encouraging them with the truth of God’s grace has propelled Tenth Avenue North to the forefront of the Christian music industry. The band’s debut disc ranked No. 10 on Billboard Magazine’s list of Top Christian Albums for 2009. The group placed two songs on the Hot Christian Songs chart, including the No. 1 radio single ‘By Your Side’ at No. 2 and ‘Hold My Heart’ at No. 13. Most impressive is the fact that Tenth Avenue North, still on its first album, had ‘By Your Side’ show up at No. 3 on Billboard’s overall decade ranking of Christian Songs.”

Doors will open at 6 p.m. The band Right Hand Red, comprised of USF students, will open at 6:30 p.m., and Tenth Avenue North will begin performing at 7 p.m. Public admission is $10. There is no charge for USF students. Christian radio station WBCL-FM 90.3 is a media partner for the event.
