Put your game face on at Outdoor Sports, Lake & Cabin Show

Get ready to throw bags, cast out and perfect your aim for cornhole tournaments, fly-fishing contests and archery competitions all taking place at the 2nd annual Outdoor Sports, Lake & Cabin Show March 18-20 at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.

“Friends and families can have fun and even lay a wager to out shoot, toss and cast one another for bragging rights and prizes worth hundreds of dollars,” said Dave Marquart, director of operations for Coliseum Productions.

Outdoor enthusiasts won’t want to miss the following high-stake tournaments and contests:

 

Cornhole

Visitors will have the opportunity to throw bags in a variety of cornhole tournaments and high-score contests, sponsored by Indy Custom Cornhole. The Corn Hole Madness Team Tournament will take place this Saturday, March 19 at 5:30 pm.

Cost is $20 per team with a chance to win $500 in prizes, and free entry into the ACO World Championships of Cornhole. Participants can also enter the singles tournament taking place this Saturday at 3 pm. Cost is $30 per entry. Seventy percent of entry fees will be paid out to the final four. Both teams and singles can pre-register by emailing cornhole@coliseumproductions.net to reserve their spot. Participants can register day of, although spots cannot be guaranteed.

Cornhole connoisseurs can also purchase their very own plain or white set at the show for 20 percent off regular price, complete with eight bags.

 

Fly-fishing

Fishermen can stop by the casting pond to gather tips from the pros, and hone their flyfishing skills. Competitors can cast away opponents at the fly-fishing accuracy casting contest on Sunday, March 20 at 3 pm. Fishing finalists with the best aim will receive $175 in gift certificates from FlyMasters of Indianapolis.

 

Archery

Archers will have the opportunity to aim and fire at the 3D motion-target archery range.

Cost is $5 to shoot for fun. For $10 per round, participants can enter to draw back their bows in the men and women’s divisions of the archery tournament. Competitors are welcome to bring their own bows, or use those available at the show. A $250 Gander Mountain gift certificate, growing cash pot and other great prizes are all at stake.

Show hours are Friday, 12 noon to 9 pm; Saturday, 10 am to 9 pm, and Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm. Admission is $10 per person; children 12 and under are free. This year, tickets are valid throughout the entire weekend.

Visitors can obtain $3 discount coupons online or at any Fort Wayne Gander Mountain and Dick’s Sporting Goods store for a limited period of time.

In addition, you won’t want to miss the latest RV’s and boats, fishing and hunting trips and gear, bikes, canoes and kayaks, ATVs and motorcycles, great vacation deals and more than 125 exhibits. Three stages will host free seminars, clinics and demos based around the great outdoors. Kids will love the giant air launcher, climbing walls, free video arcade and indoor beach.

More than ten thousand dollars in door prizes will be awarded to guests of the show, every hour. To be eligible to win you must be at the show and have your registration name badge. You can register at the show or online.
