‘Log on!’ Design your dream home at Outdoor Sports, Lake & Cabin Show

Ever dreamed of owning your very own log home, much like the picturesque cottages you see in the mountains? Bring your vision to life during the 2nd annual Fort Wayne Outdoor Sports, Lake & Cabin Show March 18-20 at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.

Pioneer Log Homes of British Columbia, Canada will build a 22’x22′ handcrafted log cabin at the show, complete with a traditional sleeping loft, rustic cabinetry and the rich tones and textures of western red cedar. After the showcase, it will be shipped to its new owner in Iowa.

“Handcrafted log homes need little maintenance, are highly durable and will stay well preserved for up to 200 years,” said David Marquart, Fort Wayne native, president and co-owner of Coliseum Productions.

“Each log is individually harvested, hand-peeled and scribed, giving the home an extraordinary look you can’t find anywhere else!” he said.

Pioneer Log Homes is just one of more than a dozen log and timber-frame home manufacturers who will provide exhibits and host seminars at the show. Showgoers will have the opportunity to admire fine craftsmanship, check out idyllic land parcels for sale, and compare and purchase one-of-a-kind furnishings and decor.

In addition, other features you won’t want to miss include the latest RV’s and boats, fishing and hunting trips and gear, bikes, canoes and kayaks, ATVs and motorcycles, great vacation deals and more than 125 exhibits. Three stages will host free seminars, clinics and demos based around the great outdoors.

Guests can look forward to the fly-fishing pond, 3D motion-target archery range and ongoing cornhole tournaments. Kids will love the giant air launcher, climbing walls, free video arcade and indoor beach.

More than ten thousand dollars in door prizes will be awarded to guests of the show, every hour. To be eligible to win you must be at the show and have your registration name badge. You can register at the show or online.

Show hours are Friday, 12 noon to 9 pm; Saturday, 10 am to 9 pm, and Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm. Admission is $10 per person; children 12 and under are free. This year, tickets are valid throughout the entire weekend.

Showgoers can obtain $3 discount coupons online or at any Fort Wayne Gander Mountain and Dick’s Sporting Goods store for a limited period of time.

All visitors to the Outdoor Sports, Lake & Cabin Show will receive a free subscription to Log Cabin Homes magazine and complimentary copies of the Lake Living Indiana Guide, Northern Indiana LAKES, Indiana Outdoor News, and Fish & Game Finder magazines.
