ISP Toll Road District Releases January Statistics

(February 17, 2011) – The Indiana State Police Toll Road Post had the following enforcement activity for January 2011. The Toll Road Post covers Lake, Porter, La Porte, St. Joseph, Elkhart, Lagrange, and Steuben Counties.

[li]Traffic tickets issued – 3,431[/li]
[li]Warnings issued – 4,376[/li]
[li]D.U.I. arrests – 23[/li]
[li]Criminal arrests – 63[/li]
[li]Speeding Trucks (over 10,000 lbs) – 289[/li]
[/list]

The Indiana State Police is committed to maintaining the overall safety of Indiana’s roadways through direct and diligent enforcement of all motor vehicle laws. The department’s goal is to reduce the overall number of personal injury and fatal vehicle crashes by targeting specific crash causation factors. Troopers are currently conducting enforcement patrols in areas that have shown crash tendencies in the past and are targeting offenses that were a contributing factor in the crashes.
