Commissioners Recognize Employees for Blizzard Work
Honored for dedication and diligence during the winter storm

(February 11, 2011) – The Allen County Board of Commissioners today recognized County employees and other individuals who provided exemplary service to citizens during last week’s blizzard.

Certificates of Appreciation were presented to groups and individual employees during the Commissioners’ regular Friday legislative session. The employees were nominated for the honor by department heads of County government.

“These people provided exemplary work for the citizens of this county during the storms of February 1 and 2,” said Commissioner Nelson Peters, board president. “We wanted to show them we appreciated their diligence and dedication in the service of our families, friends and
neighbors during difficult circumstances.”

Those recognized during the meeting included:

[li]The County Buildings & Grounds Maintenance Department.[/li]
[li]The staff of the Youth Services Center on Lima Road.[/li]
[li]Bryan Christie, Memorial Coliseum Vice-President of Operation, and Eric Lonsbury, Coliseum Assistant Operations Manager.[/li]
[li]Lori Mayers, Homeland Security Assistant Director, and Adam Welch, Homeland Security Planning Coordinator.[/li]
[li]The staff of the 3-1-1 Call Center.[/li]
[li]Jerry Quesinberry, assigned to work security at the City-County Building by Diamond Security.[/li]
