American Red Cross Opens Shelter in Fort Wayne For Stranded Motorists
First Assembly of God Shelter to Open at 8 p.m.In response to severe winter weather, the American Red Cross of Northeast Indiana will open a shelter for stranded motorists at First Assembly of God, located at 1400 W. Washington Center Road in Fort Wayne. The shelter opens at 8 p.m. on Feb. 1.
Members of the Indiana National Guard are patrolling the roadways, and will use the designated American Red Cross shelter as a place to house stranded motorists. The Red Cross is equipped to provide snacks, hot beverages, warm blankets and other comfort items to affected people.
