.SOUTH WINDS AHEAD OF A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM TRACKING ACROSS THE GREAT LAKES REGION WILL BRING INCREASED MOISTURE TO THE REGION TODAY. THIS INCREASED MOISTURE COMBINED WITH AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE MOVING THROUGH THE AREA WILL RESULT IN WINTRY MIX OF PRECIPITATION. TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 1 TO 3 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE THIS MORNING INTO EARLY AFTERNOON…WITH AREAS OF FREEZING DRIZZLE EXPECTED FROM LATE THIS MORNING INTO THIS AFTERNOON. THE COMBINATION OF LIGHT SNOW AND FREEZING DRIZZLE WILL LIKELY RESULT IN SOME HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON.

* TIMING…LIGHT SNOW WILL CONTINUE THROUGH EARLY AFTERNOON WITH SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES…WITH LOCALIZED SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF AROUND 3 INCHES ACROSS FAR NORTHERN INDIANA. AREAS OF FREEZING DRIZZLE ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP LATE THIS MORNING INTO THIS AFTERNOON WITH LIGHT ICE ACCUMULATIONS POSSIBLE.

* MAIN IMPACT…ROADS MAY BECOME SLIPPERY MAKING FOR POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS.

* OTHER IMPACTS…SIDEWALKS MAY ALSO BECOME VERY SLIPPERY MAKING FOR HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS FOR PEDESTRIANS.
