One Week Left for Students to Submit Reagan Centennial Essays

(INDIANAPOLIS) – Hoosier students have one week remaining to submit their essays in Indiana’s Ronald Reagan Centennial Celebration essay contest. The contest deadline is January 31, 2011.

Lt. Governor Becky Skillman announced the contest three weeks ago as part of the 100th anniversary of President Reagan’s birthday, which occurs on February 6, 2011.

Any student who is in fourth through twelfth grade may submit an essay that is no longer than 500 words answering the question “What is Ronald Reagan’s most important contribution to American history?” The winner of the essay contest will be invited to read their essay at a ceremony at the Indiana Statehouse on Thursday, February 10th.

Essays can be submitted through email to communications@lg.in.gov or by completing the form on Indiana’s Reagan Centennial website at www.lg.in.gov/RonaldReagan.
