Headwaters Park Ice Rink open this weekend; Komets skate on Sunday

An e-mail update from Geoff Paddock, Director of the Headwaters Park Alliance:

We are just over the half way mark in the eighth season of ice skating at the Headwaters Park Ice Rink. Our numbers are strong, despite a cold winter, and we may exceed last season’s record number of 25,246 when the rink closes on February 27. As you know, we awarded a gift basket to the 150,000th skater (actually a family of four) on January 1.

Despite the cold weekend temperatures, we are still planning to host the annual Skate With the Komets Day at the rink on Sunday, January 23, from 2 to 4 PM. This is an opportunity for people of all ages to come to the rink, meet Komet Hockey players, and ice skate with them. Many of the team members will be available again to mingle with the general public on Sunday afternoon.

I hope you can attend this family oriented event. Regular admission prices for skating and skate rental apply.
