…WINTRY MIX TONIGHT AND EARLY TUESDAY…

.MILD AND MOIST AIR WILL SPREAD NORTHEAST OVER A WEDGE OF COLDER AIR AND CAUSE A WINTRY MIX OF PRECIPITATION TONIGHT AND EARLY TUESDAY. SNOW IS EXPECTED TO CHANGE TO FREEZING RAIN AND THEN RAIN WHERE SURFACE TEMPERATURES HAVE RISEN ABOVE FREEZING. HOWEVER…GROUND TEMPERATURES MAY LAG BEHIND AIR TEMPERATURES AND PROLONG THE POTENTIAL FOR SLIPPERY TRAVEL AND HAZARDOUS WALKING SURFACES. COLDER AIR WILL SPREAD BACK INTO THE AREA TUESDAY AFTERNOON…WITH PRECIPITATION BECOMING ALL SNOW BY LATE IN THE DAY.

* TIMING…A MIXTURE OF SNOW AND FREEZING RAIN WILL SPREAD INTO THE AREA TONIGHT.

* MAIN IMPACT…SURFACES ARE LIKELY TO BECOME ICY CAUSING SLIPPERY TRAVEL AND HAZARDOUS WALKING CONDITIONS.
